I had the nice opportunity to join a group of lichenologist in this small island situated in the Madeira archipelago. The aim of this expediction was to estimate population size of the endemical lichens Anzia centrifuga and many Ramalina spp.

The genus Usnea is rare in the Porto Santo island. This population of Usnea subscabrosa presents thamnolic acid as main medular compound.
