Mindanao - Southern Philippines |

I collaborate as a lichenologist to expeditions to the Southern Philippines, organized by the Botanical Research Institut of Texas (BRIT institut/USA). The project Plant and lichen discovery on the Southern Philippines aims to study the biodiversity on many island harbors high species endemism and still poorly known. I was on the field to collect "all the lichens" found: the crustose, foliose, fruticose, terricolous and saxicolous forms. I collected more than 1000 numbers which will be studied by me and other lichenologists.
Study sites from where the genus Usnea (and other lichens) were collected un the southern Philippines (Mindanao, Camiguin and Negros Islands). Note that sometimes this fruticose lichen is hight on the trees and need to be collected with a tree pooler or with the help of climbers !
